At Anime Expo 2024, I had the chance to meet another OC cosplayer, Piyo (piyo_chan_cos), at the Nikke booth in South Hall! I got to see their version of Alice: Wonderland Bunny cosplay from the ever-popular game Nikke. And I must say—seeing it in mostly pink was awesome, given my love for the color!

I only managed to take a few photos of piyo_chan_cos since the area was crowded, and I wasn’t able to move to an open space. Still, they knew exactly how to pose, showing a deep understanding of the character.

This was my first time spotting piyo_chan_cos at a convention, and I hope to see them again next year at Anime Expo with another cosplay version of an iconic character. I can’t wait to see them again at other SoCal events and anime conventions in the coming years. Looks like I need to branch out and attend more cons to catch all their amazing cosplays!

If you’re a cosplay enthusiast, you absolutely need to follow them on Instagram at piyo_chan_cos. Their cosplays are unique and feature a variety of game characters. I’m hoping to run into them again at another convention and capture more stunning photos of their incredible outfits.

Just wrapped up Fanimecon 2025, where I was looking for cosplayers on day four. I spotted Ichinose Asuna, a character from Blue Archive, and managed to get a few photos. Unfortunately, they weren’t exactly what I wanted due to a forming line and a less-than-ideal location.

After taking the photos, I was getting contact information, as I always make sure to get cosplayers’ details to send them their photos on the same day. To my surprise, it turned out to be piyo_chan_cos. I didn’t recognize them at first because of the wig and contacts!

The crowds at Fanimecon have a different vibe from most conventions, with fans traveling from SoCal, Orange County, and the Los Angeles area. The energy was contagious, with plenty to do even late into the night—or, should I say, early morning hours. The ParkCon gathering brought different types of music right to the park adjacent to the convention center, making it easy to enjoy thanks to the many hotels surrounding the area. It was also my first time attending ParkCon!

This was my first time back at Fanimecon since 2018. I don’t go every year, but I might now since I won’t be attending Sakura as often. I previously attended in 2015, 2017, and 2018, when I took a lot of photos in the park area. This time, it felt much more crowded. I like to take photos of the surrounding area without too many people in the background, but I was only able to do a single photoshoot on Saturday—the busiest day of the four-day anime convention.
