Met Yomii (Yomiichuu)
At Anime Expo 2017, I had the chance to meet the beautiful Yomiichuu on the main floor in South Hall. Interestingly, I got to see their version of Hideri Kanzaki from Blend S, a male character who dresses as a girl in the anime. Coincidentally, I had just watched Blend S before attending the convention. As a result, I immediately recognized the character and appreciated the cosplay even more. In particular, I found it amusing because the series features a character known for having a scary-looking smile.
Unfortunately, I only managed to take a few photos of Yomiichuu since the area was crowded. To improve the shots, we moved near a pillar so there would be fewer people in the background. Even so, the photos turned out great. Additionally, the poses were well executed and helped create some memorable images.
Notably, this was my first time spotting Yomiichuu at a convention. Therefore, I hope to see them again next year at Anime Expo with another cosplay of an iconic character. Furthermore, I look forward to seeing them at other Southern California events and anime conventions in the coming years. Ultimately, attending more conventions may be the best way to catch all of their amazing cosplays. In fact, this experience has encouraged me to branch out and explore even more events in the future.
